Panchkula-Haryana Government is taking many commendable steps to benefit the person sitting at the end of the state under Antyodaya. The goal of the government is to provide healthier and physically fit food to those who can not afford to buy clean, nutritious food at a high price. Such laborers, rickshaw drivers and other labor classes do a lot of physical work. In order to provide lunch to the poor laborers in this direction, Antyodaya Dinner Canteen has been set up by Labor and Employment Department near Labor Square, Sector-16, Panchkula. The canteen was inaugurated by Manish Kumar Grover, Minister of State for Co-operation of Haryana on August 15, and on this occasion, he started canteens by serving food to self laborers. This canteen is proving to be very helpful in providing nutritious food to the laborers. In this canteen, workers get enough stomach food in only 10 rupees from 12 to 3 pm. For the cost of Rs 10 only, pulses, vegetables, four roti, rice, raita, jaggery and chutney are provided to the laborers. This food, which is cooked daily in the canteen, is made by changing vegetables every day. In the short time of August 15, the number of laborers coming to the canteen every day is increasing. There are very positive results coming out of this plan. Till now, about three to four thousand workers have eaten food in this canteen and there is a daily average 250-300 workers of workers coming to eat food. The laborers who came to eat food are very excited and happy because of this canteen being opened, because they used to get this food four or five times out of the price and now they are getting only nutritious meals in just 10 rupees.
